At the helm of Brownstone Mediation Services is Principal Owner TeKay Brown-Taylor. TeKay is an experienced mediator and conflict management practitioner. With a combination of over 17 years working with organizations in non-profit management, secondary and higher education, corporate America, and as an Air Force Captain in the United States military, she understands the level of patience and knowledge required to manage complex issues. TeKay holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Management and Organizational Behavior with a minor in Accounting from the University of Missouri. She is also an alumna of Webster University’s home campus in St. Louis, MO where she received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. TeKay graduated the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) located in Cocoa Beach FL within the top twenty percent of her class being named to the Commandant’s List. There she received her certification as an Equal Opportunity (EO) Advisor, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Counselor, and Diversity Management Practitioner; and where she now serves an Adjunct Instructor and Small Group Facilitator. TeKay is a Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR) Registered Neutral with specialized training in employment, juvenile delinquency, divorce, and domestic relations mediation. She has served in roles as chief consultant to businesses and organizations helping leaders manage dynamic human relations environments. Today she serves as the Equal Opportunity Director for the Florida Air National Guard; leading HR training and education programs for almost 2,000 Airmen.
Outside of running a company, being an instructor, and serving in the military; TeKay is an avid community volunteer as a court appointed special advocate with Child Enrichment Inc. helping abused and neglected children find stable placements. She is also a board member with the CSRA chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management and committee member with The Lydia Project who's mission is helping women coping with cancer. In addition to her passion for helping the world become a more peaceful place, her favorite pass time is spending time with family and friends and traveling across the country in support of gospel quartet music---much accredited to her love for Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's. Her desire is that her life's work include a legacy of advocating for equality, tolerance, and peace!
